Any big plans for the weekend? I share the sentiment of these thirsty gentlemen. Spare a thought for our Gulf Coast Oppos as Harvey approaches. The National Weather Service is predicting 35 inches of rain. That’s a yard of rain, folks.

Sleep forever! Finally have a weekend off :] I’m planning to do zero things! My wife agrees with the plan. Sleep, wake up to watch F1 at Spa, sleep again til Monday morning

Wait, don’t you have a little rain to worry about? Or did you evac?

we’ll be fine in H-town. The typical spots will probably flood but everyone already knows how to get around that. Besides that, it’s all good. My thoughts are with those in the Corpus area dealing with all that wind and that middle section of the coast getting hit with all that rain :’(

I have a few concert performances of an obscure Gilbert and Sullivan work, then installing an oil catch can in the Volvo.

I think we are going on a short road trip/family outing to check out the biggest ceder trees in the state of MT. I saw on my debit card my wife got the oil changed on the car this morning for a whopping $72. So car is ready to go, I hope that included an air filter or something else.

Holy crap

Kinja'd!!!

Seriously, holy crap

Kinja'd!!!

Are there just no winds aloft to push Harvey along?

No, there is a front that came through yesterday that will cause the storm to stop. This is pretty damned impressive.

I’m a professional trumpet player, and have played a couple of G&S shows. Not the most interesting trumpet parts in the world. Usually about two hours of boom-chick-boom-chick-boom-chick. Break a leg!

$72? Holy hell, I hope they put in oil with gold flake in it and a titanium filter. My family has traveled to San Diego and the Bay Area and the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest. I hope to make it up to your area next summer. Never been in that part of the country.

Attempting yard camping with my 2 and 4 year old. Wish me luck. At least I have a nice campfire and all my whiskey close at hand.

Sounds like you’ll have fun regardless.

Thanks! They certainly have an MO, both musically and plot-wise. The wordplay is where the fun is.

I know right? I can do it myself for about $35 and that is with Mobile 1 and all that fancy stuff.

Montana is a gem, it’s really nice in the summer. Please come here and spend your moneys.

That’s something that I never did with my boys. We don’t have any equipment, through.

When my sister and I were young, we camped a lot as a family, and I loved it. So I’m hoping to do it with our kids, too. It’s a great, inexpensive way to go to some beautiful places; once you get over the minimum threshold of equipment, that is. But if you’re patient you can get a lot of stuff for free or cheap. I was thrilled that the kids did well in the tent the first night, and the weather is so good I might do it another night this week.
